Teresa Seghers- Archicad Support Specialist

Teresa started her career at architectural firms, but discovered that she gained more energy from collaboration, sharing knowledge, and helping others. Today, she uses her experience with BIM and Archicad at KUBUS to advise customers and provide practical solutions. On this page, you'll discover how Teresa uses her architectural background in a new role.

From Architecture firm to Trusted Advisor for Design Teams

Teresa spent many years working at an architectural firm in various roles before making the move to KUBUS. What was missing in her work? More interaction with people. More variety. And more opportunities to apply her knowledge of BIM and Archicad in a different way.

Today, she helps architectural firms work more effectively with Archicad every day. She answers questions, advises on workflows, and uses her practical experience to help customers find solutions they can immediately put into practice.

I already knew what it was like to be a customer

My background is in architecture. After graduating, I spent around ten years working at different architectural firms, ranging from small offices to larger organisations. In my final years, I was mainly focused on modelling large-scale projects.

That allowed me to develop extensive knowledge of Archicad and BIM. At the time, I mainly knew KUBUS as the helpdesk. Whenever you ran into a problem, you eventually ended up speaking with someone from their team. I never imagined I would one day work there myself. The distance simply felt too great. That changed after the pandemic. Remote working became much more common, and suddenly the step to KUBUS felt far more realistic.

Why I was looking for something different

I have always enjoyed architecture. In fact, I grew up around it. My father is a landscape architect, and conversations about design, buildings, and spatial concepts were common at home. But the reality of the profession turned out to be different from what I had expected. The workload was high. Deadlines were often leading the way. And over time, I realised I was getting less energy from the environment I was working in.

What I found myself missing most was contact with people. I did not want to spend all my time behind a model. I wanted to collaborate, think along with others, solve problems, and help people move forward. When the vacancy at KUBUS came along, it felt like a logical next step.

No two days are the same

Today, I work in the Archicad Support team. At its core, my job is about helping customers. We do that through phone calls, emails, chats, technical articles, tips, and advisory sessions. The questions we receive are incredibly diverse. Sometimes they are about installations or licensing. Sometimes about modelling. And sometimes we help customers think through project structures, workflows, or smarter ways of collaborating on complex projects.

That variety is what makes the role so enjoyable. Every question feels like a puzzle. What exactly is happening? Where is the problem? And how can we help someone move forward? That challenge keeps me engaged every single day.

I enjoy sharing knowledge

One of the things I enjoy most is helping someone who feels stuck and finding a solution together. Sometimes it is a small issue that can be solved immediately. Other times it involves discussing workflows, project structures, or modelling approaches where I can draw on my own experience from practice.

I still work with many of the same topics as I did before. The difference is that I now approach them from a different perspective. That combination of technical content and human interaction makes the role both interesting and rewarding.

Openness is more than just a value here

For me, the biggest difference is the culture. Within our team, communication happens constantly. We have daily check-ins, team meetings, and regular opportunities to discuss ideas or challenges. I noticed that openness from my very first interview. From the start, I felt that everything could be discussed. The good things, but also the difficult ones. And that feeling has never disappeared.

Work and life should fit together

Another important aspect for me is the balance between work and personal life. Of course, there are busy periods. Especially when projects require extra attention.

But the principle remains the same: work should be sustainable. In fact, there are times when I am encouraged to slow down rather than work more hours. That is not something I experienced everywhere I worked before. It creates peace of mind.

Growth is recognised here

In the two years I have been here, I have been given a lot of responsibility. I gradually became more involved in project management and in supporting larger customer accounts.

Recently, I was even offered a promotion. Not because I had asked for it, but because the organisation felt my development had earned it. That meant a lot to me. It was the first time in my career that an employer so clearly recognised and rewarded my growth and contribution.

When will you feel at home here?

I think KUBUS is a great fit for people who are curious. Curious about technology. Curious about how things work. And curious about finding solutions for customers.

For architects or BIM modellers who work extensively with Archicad, this can be a very interesting career move. Especially if you want to stay close to the industry while looking for more interaction, variety, and influence. Here, you get the opportunity to keep developing yourself while helping customers succeed.
